Ion Chromatography Theory and Operation
The Ion Chromatography Theory & Operation training courses are designed to develop fundamental and operational skills of new users of IC systems. This course is strongly recommended for IC users with a minimum of 2 months of hands-on experience who would like to further expand their knowledge on the principles of ion chromatography, how to successfully operate their IC system, and properly maintain its consumables.
Course Pre-requisites: Completion of Chromeleon Software courses (Levels 1 & 2) or equivalent
Class size is limited to 10 attendees.
Specific System/Hardware focused Courses Include:
- Principles of Ion Chromatography
- Eluent Preparation for Ion Chromatography – Tips & Tricks
- RFIC Eluent Generation Technology (Care & Operation)
- Detectors & Suppressors (Care & Operation)
- Conductivity Detection
- Amperometry Detection
- Columns (Care & Operation)
- AS Injection Modes (Simultaneous & Sequential)
- ICS-5000 Capillary Systems – Special Considerations
- Theory of Troubleshooting
- Laboratory (hands-on) exercises
- IC System Installation, Setup & Equilibration
- Making “Low-Noise & Voids-Free” Plumbing Connections
- 1-pt Calibration Curve
- Method Calibration / Data Processing
- System Shutdown (Short- & Long-term)
Because we will be using Dionex Chromeleon Software for system control and data manipulation, Chromeleon Level 1 and Chromeleon Level 2 courses are required for all of the Basic IC operation and troubleshooting courses.
