The Maintenance and Troubleshooting training courses are designed to develop maintenance and troubleshooting skills of experienced operators of IC systems.  This course is recommended for IC users with a minimum of 6 months of hands-on experience who would like to polish-up their IC operation skills.  Specialized practical exercises in the process of rebuilding pumps, valves, and autosamplers will instruct attendees on how to correctly perform yearly Preventive Maintenance (PM) on the IC systems.  Additionally, the troubleshooting exercises will aid in the development of effective troubleshooting processes to help minimize instrument downtime.
Course Pre-requisites: Completion of Chromeleon Software courses (Levels 1 & 2) or equivalent and completion of the Theory & Operation course. Course duration is 2 days. Class size is limited to 10 attendees.

  • UV Detection Overview
  • Theory of Troubleshooting
• Amperometry Detection (Principles, Operation & Care)
• Operation, Maintenance & Troubleshooting (including hands-on exercises):
  • Pumps
  • Valves
  • Autosamplers
• ICS-5000 Capillary System (Principles, Operation & Care)
• Theoretical Troubleshooting Exercise
• Laboratory (hands-on) exercises
  • IC System Setup & Equilibration
  • 3-pt Calibration Curve
  • Practical Troubleshooting Exercise
  • System Shutdown (Short- & Long-term)

Because we will be using Dionex Chromeleon Software for system control and data manipulation, Chromeleon Level 1 and Chromeleon Level 2 courses are required for all of the IC Maintenance and Troubleshooting courses.

Who Should Attend:

Experienced users of Dionex Systems with at least six months of hands-on experience with the IC System (please contact instructor if less than 6 months experience)

Prerequisites:

• Completion of the IC Theory and Operation training course
• Completion of Chromeleon Level 1 and Chromeleon Level 2 training courses
