Capillary High-Pressure Ion Chromatography
Innovative High-Pressure Capillary IC
We have taken sensitivity and ease-of-use to a whole new level, simplifying ion chromatography while simultaneously increasing the power and reproducibility of ion analysis. Now with the ability to operate a capillary system continuously at 5000 psi, high resolution and fast run times are achievable using new 4 µm particle-size capillary columns. High-pressure capillary RFIC systems redefine the way ion chromatography is performed.
The Thermo Scientific Dionex ICS-5000 and ICS-4000 systems represent the next step in the evolution of ion chromatography.

Capillary 4 µm IC Columns
Thermo Scientific Dionex IonPac 4 μm particle-size capillary columns improve separation efficiency, enabling fast, high-resolution separations.
Capillary IC - Easy Access and Usability
Scaling down from analytical to capillary scale brings many advantages to ion chromatography. One of the major values is that the system can be left Always On, Always Ready to run samples. This mode of operation is possible with capillary IC as it only consumes 15 mL of water a day, translating into 5.2 L a year, and the Eluent Generation Cartridge producing the eluent lasts for 18 months under continuous operation mode. These features bring IC to a new level of ease of use and providing what you want – Results!
Dionex ICS-5000 HPIC- System Features and Configurations
Significant performance enhancements make the Dionex ICS-5000 the most sensitive, stable, and easy to use ion chromatography system available today. Dramatic improvements in flow rate accuracy, eluent generator electronics stability, and conductivity cell temperature control increase baseline stability and enhance sensitivity.
Dionex ICS-5000 Capillary HPIC - Designed for Upgradability
The Dionex ICS-5000 Reagent-Free™ Capillary High-Pressure IC (HPIC™) system , is the only IC system to offer the flexibility to run analytical and/or capillary analysis on the same system. The outstanding analytical version is fully upgradeable, allowing you to run both or go completely capillary, as you need, protecting your investment for the future. And now, with the ability to run high-pressure capillary IC, the Dionex ICS-5000 is the most versatile RFIC system on the market today.
Capillary IC Columns
Thermo Scientific dionex IonPac Capillary columns (0.4 mm) are packed with the same material as the equivalent analytical scale version, thus producing the same separation performance as a 4 mm column. This is ideal for method transfer as the user does not need to redevelop or validate the method. Scaling the cross-sectional area down to 0.4 mm brings many additional benefits. IC Capillary Columns
Capillary Fast IC Columns
Many chromatographic separations have far more resolution than necessary to separate and integrate analytes of interest. Optimizing column dimensions and increasing flow rate can dramatically decrease run times while maintaining sufficient resolution. Thermo Fisher Scientific has developed a new line of capillary Fast IC columns to facilitate separations up to 4 times faster than conventional columns. All Thermo Scientific Dionex ICS-5000 systems are designed to be compatible with Fast IC columns, which are available in standard bore, microbore, and capillary formats.
