With Chromeleon^®, you can easily analyze your data and present the results in the ways your customers want to see them. The built-in spreadsheet works like Microsoft^® Excel, so it is both powerful and familiar. Chromeleon report workbooks can have as many worksheets as you like; each worksheet can include result tables, chromatograms, calibration plots, spectra, audit trails, and even custom equations and charts. Every cell, table, and chart updates instantly if any of the source data change, so you never have to worry about consistency. You get the custom reports you need without the hassles and validation issues of exporting to other software, so you save time, effort, and frustration.

Chromeleon gives you the power and flexibility of an Excel-compatible spreadsheet directly within the chromatography software environment. Results are calculated dynamically, so they are always up to date. 

The on-screen results display gives you instant feedback as you browse through chromatograms or make adjustments. 

In the printer layout mode, you can see report pages exactly as they will be printed. 

With the Report Publisher option, you can perform custom calculations by entering custom worksheet formulas in standard Microsoft Excel syntax, and also include custom charts in your reports. 

Dynamically Interlinked Views

Gain new insights into your data with the dynamic data displays of Chromeleon^®. View any combination of chromatograms, spectra, calibration plots, method settings, and analytical results—all at the same time—without needing to close one item to look at another. As you navigate in one display, all the others update instantaneously, and visual cues help you understand each item in its context. For example, the marked point in the calibration plot always corresponds to the marked line in the peak table and report, as well as the marked peak in the current chromatogram. If you adjust a baseline of a calibration standard peak, the calibration curve and all dependent results are instantly recalculated and displayed. There's no guess work, no batch reprocessing, no frustrating trial-and-error method optimization.

View tabulated results right on screen as you review and manipulate chromatograms. If you make a change, such as a baseline modification or peak reassignment, the on-screen report updates instantly.  

You can view a chromatogram, calibration plot, peak table, and report all at the same time. When you click on any of these, all the others instantly update to reflect your current selection, making it easy for you to see the relationships between the various aspects of your data.

If you have collected data from a diode-array detector or mass spectrometer, you can view and compare spectra together with the chromatogram. As you would expect, the displays are dynamically interlinked. Click on any part of the chromatogram to see the corresponding spectra.

Status Report Utility

The Chromeleon^® System Status Report (SSR) utility program, which was introduced with Chromeleon 6.8, provides a convenient way to collect and package a comprehensive “snapshot” of a specific Chromeleon installation for troubleshooting or general documentation purposes. Options let you include or exclude database installation qualification (DBIQ) and datasource performance qualification (DSPQ) reports, instrument configuration reports, drivers and services, symbol tables, log files, audit trails, and even specific sequences and/or directories. The System Status Report gets packaged as a single file that can be stored and/or emailed directly from the utility program (an encryption option is provided). The size of the System Status Report files you generate varies, depending on which items you choose to include. On-line Help files that describe the various program options are included with the utility. The System Status Report utility is included with Chromeleon Release 6.8, which supports all of the reporting options. The utility can also be used with Chromeleon Releases 6.7, 6.6, and 6.5, though certain reporting options will not be available. Support for specific options goes as far back as the following Chromeleon releases:

• DBIQ: 6.8
• DSPQ: 6.7 SP4, 6.8
• Server Configuration History: 6.8
• Audit Trails, Generic Drivers, Symbol Tables: 6.5 SP10, 6.6 SP6, 6.7

The System Status Report utility works under Windows XP and Windows 2000, but is not compatible with earlier Windows releases.

To access the System Status Report utility of Chromeleon 6.8 or higher, use Windows Start menu. To install the System Status Report utility for use with Chromeleon 6.7, 6.6, or 6.5, click here to download the setup program file (6 MB), then run the setup program and follow its instructions. Installing the System Status Report utility uses about 12 MB of disk space.

CAUTION: To avoid version conflicts between certain files, DO NOT install the System Status Report utility into the “…\Chromel\Bin” folder.
