- Disposable cartridge system for increased productivity
- Fast sample preconcentration (large-volume injections)
- Fast sample cleanup (e.g., desalting of proteins/peptides, detergent removal, etc.)
- Microcolumn switching (2-D, 3-D, etc.)
- Economical
PepMap TM micro and capillary precolumns are very short microcolumns (length 5 and 15 mm; i.d. 300 µm, 500 µm, or 1.0 mm) consisting of a cartridge holder and a set of disposable cartridges. They are used for precolumn concentration (focusing) of diluted samples, or in various column-switching techniques. Solutes can be effectively concentrated in micro and capillary precolumns by selecting the proper packing material and altering the property of the sample solvent and mobile phase. Micro and capillary precolumns are used for fast sample concentration in combination with large-volume injections. The substantially shorter loading time results in reduced overall analysis time. Desalting of proteins/peptides, SDS removal prior to mass spectrometry (MS) analysis, and multidimensional chromatography (2-D, 3-D, etc.) are other applications.
