The CarboPacTM PA20, a fast monosaccharide column, is the recommended column for the analysis of glycoprotein or plant hydrolysates. Using the CarboPac PA20, the six common glycoprotein monosaccharides can be baseline resolved in less than 10 min. The column of choice for high-sensitivity monosaccharide analyses Highly efficient separations with good resolution between neighboring peaks Fast analysis in less than 10 min Optimized resolution of glucosamine/galactose and glucose/mannose peak pairs Lower eluent consumption
The CarboPac PA20 is a strong anion-exchange column designed for high-resolution separations of mono- and disaccharides, with no need for derivatization. This column provides baseline resolution between the six monosaccharides (fucose, galactosamine, glucosamine, galactose, glucose, and mannose) commonly found in mammalian glycoproteins over a wide range of eluent concentrations. The CarboPac PA20 provides slightly different selectivity from either the CarboPac PA1 or PA10, making it an attractive choice for separating difficult peak pairs. The resin in the CarboPac PA20 consists of 6.5-µm-diameter nonporous beads covered with a fine latex of functionalized MicroBeadTM resin. This pellicular resin structure permits excellent mass transfer, resulting in high-resolution chromatography and rapid reequilibration. The performance of each column is verified with a Dionex MonoStandardTM containing fucose, galactosamine hydrochloride, galactosamine hydrochloride, galactose, glucose, and mannose to ensure reliable performance for the separation of simple carbohydrates. The 3 × 150 mm format provides fast separations, ideal for the quality assurance or quality check of glycoprotein-based therapeutics. In addition, the 0.5 mL/min recommended flow rate results in significantly less eluent consumption, enabling longer operation without replenishing eluents.
