Fluorescence Detector

Do you need to detect trace-level analytes? Does your HPLC method require selective detection of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), aflatoxins, carbamates, vitamins, or amino acids? Then the RF 2000 Fluorescence Detector is the perfect choice. With a signal-to-noise ratio of better than 300:1 for the Raman line of water, detection of trace-level components is highly sensitive. Two independent monochromators provide the highest reproducibility of excitation and emission wavelengths (±0.2 nm), thereby facilitating the adaptation of methods to the optimum detection condition for individual components.

Detect Trace-Level Analytes

Separating target analytes from the matrix or other interfering compounds can be difficult. Because the target analyte's concentration is often very low compared to that of the interfering compounds, the situation can be even more challenging. This low concentration typically occurs in applications analyzing PAH, aflatoxins, carbamates, vitamins, and amino acids in the toxicological, environmental, and food sectors. In these cases, fluorescence detection with the RF 2000 helps to suppress the interfering compounds, since those often do not show fluorescence activity. The target analytes are detected even at trace levels due to the optimized optical and electronic design of the RF 2000, yielding exceptionally high sensitivity (signal-to-noise ratio better 300:1 for the Raman line of water).

Flexibility and Easy Method Development

The optimum excitation and emission wavelength compounds vary significantly. By time-programming both the excitation and emission wavelengths, the RF 2000 permits the response of each component to be optimized for selective trace analysis. In addition to chromatograms, spectra can be recorded using the wavelength-scanning feature. Comparing these spectra with a library created from known standards allows identification of the analyzed substances and facilitates method development. The standard wavelength range of 200–650 nm can be extended to 200–900 nm (optional).

Reliability: Wavelength Accuracy and Reproducibility

You can rely on the results obtained with the RF 2000. This detector offers unsurpassed wavelength accuracy and achieves an excellent reproducibility of ±0.2 nm, ensuring that comparable samples produce comparable results.

Save Time Through Automated Validation

Automated validation functions save time and make validation of the instrument an easy task. Powerful and easy to use, AutoQTM validation routines allow for automated Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) tests. The OQ/PQ test checks for baseline noise, signal height, and wavelength accuracy.
